The customized SCADA system has its benefits if the customer’s requirements are many, complex and unique. In many cases the functionality of the SCADA system which is actually used by the customer is the same from one customer to another, i.e. alarming features, data logging features and monitoring features. Our SCADA products are standardized to fulfill these typical requirements, thus eliminating the need for expensive development of the SCADA system and reducing the risks of implementing such system.
The data communication network must enable the ECL Comfort 310 controllers to communicate fast and reliable with the SCADA system. This is ensured by using either an internet connection to the ECL Comfort 310 or having an RS-485 based network for the ECL Comfort 310s. In both cases it is recommended to read the data sheet for ECL Portal, DECS 2.0 or OPC Server software and also the supplementary application notes regarding the use of mobile internet connections or WIFI. These documents can be found in the online product catalog.

If the SCADA system is the Danfoss ECL Portal then you will in most cases succeed just by connecting the network cable from the ECL Comfort 310 to the LAN. In some companies the network security is very high and then the firewall will need to be opened on TCP Port 502 from LAN to WAN side (this is default open in most consumer firewalls). If it is any other SCADA system you will typically have to take care of the IP addressing on the ECL Comfort 310, configure the firewall to be opened on TCP Port 502 from WAN to LAN side and ensure that incoming data on TCP Port 502 from the SCADA system to the ECL Comfort 310 is routed to the IP address of the ECL Comfort 310.
